Fincas de Landaluce Crianza, Rioja Alavesa, Spain 2019, 91 points Wine Align

Here's a ripe and stylish, deeply fruity, pure tempranillo from 60 year old vines in Laguardia, with plenty of blackberry and black raspberry fruit, also black cherry and subtle licorice flavours. Wood is a very minor component despite a full year in French and American oak, remaining focused on the fruit. Length and depth are very good to excellent.

Sourced from our 2 estate vineyards (Mokelumne River sub-AVA & Shinn Farms) We blended 20% Petite Sirah to help strengthen the colour & increase the body and mouthfeel.

Nappolaio Rosso IGT 2017- 92 Wine Align

The Nappolaio vineyard is the estate's oldest, located at 450 metres, exposed on the south side on marl. This is maturing sangiovese from an excellent vintage. Showing fine fragrance and complexity, with ripe raspberry/currant fruit, cedar, salami, rosemary and spice. Medium-bodied, smooth, well structured with juicy acidity and firm granular tannin drying the finish. The length is excellent.

Chateau Monier La Fraisse, Bordeaux Superieur, France 2020- Berliner Wine Trophy

This Bordeaux Superieur is an elegant wine full of panache. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet with aromas of red fruits on the palate. Immediate hints of fresh spices gradually give way to delicate and Jammy fruits. Pairs well with red meats and cheese.

This shows generous, typical Malbec mulberry fruit with a touch of meatiness, pepper, & herbs. Full-bodied, dense, smooth, with fine tannin, lots of racy red fruit and a firm fruity finish. Direct, generous, well made and excellent value.
